Ford Motor Company continues its strong start to 2016 as first quarter sales in China increased 14 percent compared to the same period last year, with 314,454 vehicles sold. Sales of Ford-branded vehicles reached 114,788 in March, up five percent compared to March 2015.
Ford continued to outpace European auto industry growth in February on the strength of rising demand for its SUVs, commercial vehicles and large cars.
Ford sold 91,700 vehicles in February in its 20 traditional European markets, up 18 percent over last year and the company’s best February sales since 2010. Outpacing industry growth of 14 percent, Ford saw its market share in February increase by 0.3 percentage points to 7.5 percent.
Driven by strong demand across its vehicle range – including SUVs, commercial vehicle and performance cars – Ford’s total vehicle sales and market share in Europe continued to grow in January.
